Each November since 100 BCE there has been a collective effort for us procrastinating fiction writers to create a book–a complete 50,000 word manuscript–in just one month.
This year I think I want to give it a try.
If you want to join me or if you just want to find out more, visit their website by clicking here.
(If you want to make a comment below saying you’re interested in giving it a try, that’s cool too. I’ll post much closer to the start as I prepare in Sept and Oct.)

I’ve taken part the last couple years. I got up to 15,000 words last year with no preparation. Hope to do better this year. Good luck!

It is incredible good fun. I made the word count my first year, although the story was unfinished at 50,000. It’s a learning experience, but the forums are addictive.

Thanks for the comments. It seems pretty challenging–I already make my living as a non-fiction writer, but writing a novel is a completely foreign experience.
I figure it will at least force me to get something done. That’s the key for me.
